Benefits brokers partner with Digital Insurance to enhance service to small business
Acordia, Brown & Brown, Lockton, J. Rolfe Davis, CCA sign agreements
ATLANTA - (September 24, 2002) Digital Insurance Inc. has signed agreements with five additional employee benefits brokers to handle the day-to-day service and sales of a portion of their small group benefits business.
These new partners are Acordia – New York, New York City, Brown & Brown - Naples, Naples, Fla., Lockton Companies of Colorado, Denver, Colo., J. Rolfe Davis, Orlando, Fla., and CCA Consulting, Reston, Va.
Under the agreements, Digital Insurance will serve as an extension of the small business unit of these brokers to enhance service levels and sell to the brokers’ prospects.
“We are extremely pleased with the beginning of this relationship,” said David Solomons, Acordia senior vice president. “Digital Insurance has an established record of providing the high touch service the small group market demands and our clients have responded positively. We look forward to the future of this partnership.”
These six new partnerships continue the trend of traditional brokers turning to Digital Insurance to handle the day-to-day servicing of their small business clients. Many brokers are finding it increasingly difficult to efficiently manage and sell their comprehensive services to this market. The resource burden to maintain and grow their small group business, generally defined as employers with less than 25 employees, has increased while compensation is either fixed or reduced.
Over the last 12 months, 24 brokers – including five of the top 10 largest 2001 revenue producers (Business Insurance, July 22, 2002) - have partnered with Digital Insurance to leverage their Customer Care Center. This center includes an integrated technology platform for the management of benefits business with licensed account managers specializing in health insurance solutions both regionally and nationally.
“Traditional brokers understand our dual focus: to drive value for them as well as to their customers we service,” said Tom Usilton, CEO and President of Digital Insurance.
In addition to its Customer Care Center and technology platform, Digital Insurance provides each small business client with an account management team. These teams, consisting of an account manager, broker support specialist and sales consultant, follow a customer focused process designed to proactively reach out to each customer at least six times per year and assist them in a variety of ways including the renewal process.
