Business Development Associate »
Reports to VP of Business Development The Business Development
Associate (BDA) position will be responsible for setting
appointments with business owners/partners/agents/decision makers
through outbound telephone and/or email communication. These
appointments will then be given to the Vice Presidents for follow
up and closing. Salary plus variable compensation.
Job duties
- Direct prospecting/marketing to employee benefits brokerage
firms and agencies as well as bank platforms of Digital's small
group service center solution for partnership or acquisition
opportunities. Our target accounts are agents, benefits brokers,
and financial services organizations of all sizes.
- 75+ outbound calls per day
- 30+ emails per day
- Must set a minimum of 1 VP appointment/call per week
- The basic qualifying of VP leads is a must
- Lead must be a viable agent/broker who has a book of small
group benefits. The lead must have the decision maker's name, solid
contact number, and a desire for more information regarding an
acquisition or partnership. This information MUST be entered into
the appropriate area in CRM, along with all prospect correspondence
including attempted contacts. Date and time must be scheduled with
the decision maker prior to the VP's receipt of the lead.
- Must collect, enter, and maintain accurate date in CRM
- Must consistently utilize Activities in CRM
- Required to forecast and provide detail feedback on each call
you make.
- Manage sales database including keeping all information
current, adding/deleting records.
Job requirements
- 1-2 years B2B or B2C sales experience in a high volume outbound
sales environment
- Must possess the ability to forecast opportunities and
penetrate new business on a daily basis
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- PC proficient and familiar with database applications,
Microsoft Office, and contact management tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Great attitude, strong work ethic, ethical, and punctual
- Firm grasp of the English language in both written and verbal
forms
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated
- Insurance industry experience helpful, but not necessary
