Important: Protected Health Information and Business Associate Agreements

The U.S. government imposes certain privacy and security mandates for protected health information (PHI) maintained by most employee health benefits plans and other parties. To ensure compliance, Digital Insurance always sends and receives PHI securely via a specialized outside vendor.

Digital partners with Voltage, a vendor recognized and accredited by the National Institute of Standards and Technology for compliance with sending and receiving PHI. We continue to work with Voltage to make communications smooth and easy.

At this time, we want to remind you that your business or association must authorize others (like Digital Insurance) to create, receive, maintain or transmit the PHI of your employees through a contract known as a "Business Associate Agreement" (BAA).

To simplify, Digital has prepared a BAA for your review Click Here to Download. This contract ensures we're all in compliance, helping to avoid any significant regulatory penalties. Please review, sign and return the BAA at your earliest convenience. [If you've already done so, please disregard - but we also encourage you to use this agreement with any other business associates you have that are privy to your PHI.]

The signed copy can be returned electronically to clientservices@digitalinsurance.com - or by mail to: Compliance Officer, Digital Insurance, 400 Galleria Parkway, Suite 300, Atlanta, GA 30339. If you have questions about the BAA, please contact your Digital benefits consultant.
